Paula Romero is Director of Climate Solutions and Alternative Risk Transfer at AON. She has more than 24 years of experience in the insurance and risk consulting sector and specializes in energy, alternative risk transfer, structured solutions, and climate risk modeling.
She holds a degree in Business Administration and Economics, with a specialization in Actuarial Science, from the Complutense University of Madrid, and a Master’s degree in Risk Management and Insurance from MAPFRE Foundation Studies.
She began her professional career at Marsh, where she worked with large industrial clients and later specialized in the energy sector, participating in international insurance programs and project finance transactions related to renewable energy.
Since 2008, she has developed her career at AON, holding various positions of responsibility in both Spain and London within the Energy Department. She has led teams, managed strategic portfolios, and coordinated complex programs in the international insurance market.
She has served as Director of the Alicante office, Director of the Central Broking Team, and Country Engagement Leader for Iberia at Inpoint, a role from which she strengthened strategic relationships with partner insurers and supported consulting and transformation projects.
She is currently Director of the Alternative Risk Transfer Unit, where she leads and promotes parametric and alternative risk transfer solutions, such as captives and innovative structures, and advises clients on climate risk assessment and modeling using advanced analytical tools.
