Standards and certifications provide a framework to ensure the quality, credibility, and transparency of these carbon projects. Without robust standards and independent certification systems, it would be difficult to verify if a project is effectively reducing or removing carbon and generating its claimed environmental and social impacts. These standards and certifications are fundamental to building trust in the carbon market and ensuring that funds for climate mitigation are used effectively and responsibly.
