Mr. Antonio García Martínez

PhD Architect and Researcher at the University of Seville

Antonio García holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of Seville. His scientific work focuses on the field of Environmental Analysis of Building Systems, particularly in the area of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of buildings. His research ranges from the eco-design of construction materials to urban environmental analysis. In the past five years, his work has concentrated on the exploration of digital resources—specifically Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Artificial Neural Networks—as tools to optimize calculation processes and to generate and analyze data through LCA.

Currently, Dr. Antonio García is a professor at the University of Seville. He teaches life cycle assessment of buildings in the “Master’s in Architectural Innovation and Design (MIATD)” and in the “Master’s in City and Sustainable Architecture (MCAS).” He also teaches other subjects in the Bachelor’s Degree in Fundamentals of Architecture, such as “Environmental Construction and Sustainable Technologies.” He is a member of the PAIDI Research Group (Andalusian Research Plan) TEP-130 Architecture, Heritage, and Sustainability. He is also a member of the University Institute of Construction Sciences (IUACC) and sits on the Academic Committee of the Doctoral School of Architecture.

He has coordinated the INDICATE Spain Project and is currently participating in the international project IEA EBC Annex 89: “Ways to Implement Net-zero Whole Life Carbon Buildings.”

His career has been recognized with awards such as the XIII Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism. He also serves on scientific committees for journals such as Conservation Science in Cultural Heritage. Arte e Scienza, l’Arte è Scienza, published by L’ERMA di Bretschneider, and for prestigious international conferences such as “Central Europe towards Sustainable Building 2022 Prague (CESB22)”.
