Miquel Rovira holds a Ph.D. in Sciences from the UPC and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, specializing in Chemical Engineering, from the UB. He currently heads the Sustainability Area at Eurecat, the Technology Center of Catalonia, and is a member of the board of directors of various associations, including the Bioenergy Cluster of Catalonia, the Catalan Water Partnership, and Water Reuse Europe. Additionally, he serves as an independent advisor for Aigües de Manresa SA and is an expert member of the ecological transition commission of the Chamber of Commerce of Sabadell.
He has developed his professional career in applied research and innovation focused on environmental sustainability, circular economy, climate resilience, and zero pollution, participating in numerous national and international projects. He is the co-author of over 100 publications, 69 of which are indexed journals, and has co-supervised 5 doctoral theses. He leads a Consolidated Research Group in Clean Technologies, recognized by the Government of Catalonia.
Rovira has been a project evaluator for AIDIT, CONICYT, and CORFO, and an associate professor at the UPC. He has conducted research stays at McGill University (Canada), the Nagoya Municipal Research Institute (Japan), and the University Louis Pasteur (France).
