Miguel Ángel Gallardo holds a degree in Economics from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His professional experience spans over 25 years in the construction sector. A significant part of his career has been within the ROCKWOOL Group. He joined the company in 1999 and has since held various leadership positions, both in the commercial area—at national and international levels—and in the financial sector.
In 2019, the ROCKWOOL Group appointed Miguel Ángel as Business Unit Director for Spain and Portugal at ROCKWOOL Peninsular. Since then, he has strengthened strategic relationships with clients, partners, and other key stakeholders, driving sustainability and the recycling of rock wool waste on construction sites through the Rockcycle Service. During this period, ROCKWOOL has increased the positive impact of its products while reducing its operational footprint. In terms of decarbonization, various initiatives have been implemented, such as the creation of more efficient offices in Barcelona and Caparroso, the transition from a coal-fired furnace to an electric furnace, the installation of a solar panel plant at the factory, and support for sustainable mobility with an electric vehicle parking area and the introduction of an electric truck for logistics operations.
Currently, Miguel Ángel combines his role at ROCKWOOL with the presidency of AFELMA, the Association of Mineral Wool Insulation Manufacturers. In this association, he contributes to fulfilling the vision of promoting the use of safe, sustainable, and efficient insulation materials, enhancing comfort, protection, and energy efficiency in buildings.
