He is the author of more than 59 patents on environmental technologies, including the generation of hydrogen through the reaction of alkaline metals and water, electrochemical methods for the elimination of nitrates, separation of multilayer plastics, various catalysts for environmental use, etc… These patents are currently in force in more than 23 countries around the world. He is also the author of more than 25 publications in high impact journals, including the first book written in Spanish on environmental management systems according to ISO14001 standards. Some of these books have been re-edited several times, such as the Manual del Químico para la Gestión Ambiental or the Manual de Especificaciones Técnicas para el diseño y rehabilitación de Estaciones depuradoras de Aguas residuales.

He has led more than 60 innovation and industrial development projects, most of them in international environments with EUREKA, FP6, FP7 and H2020 accreditations.

Since 1997 he has been working on on-site and on-demand hydrogen generation, accumulating a large experience in this field.

He is honorary professor of the Catalysis and Separation Processes research group of the Chemical Engineering Department of the Complutense University of Madrid, director of the Chair of Environmental Engineering of the San Antonio University (UCAM) of Murcia, was a member of the panel of experts on global warming in the Autonomous Community of Murcia and among other academic positions.

Since the beginning of his professional activity he has had a priority inclination towards the world of professional training. He has designed, directed and developed countless programmes for young graduates or in their first years of professional practice with a view to their incorporation into the company. He currently maintains this type of programmes for graduates in Chemical Engineering with different universities such as the Complutense University, the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the University of Murcia.

He is a member of the American Chemical Society, Royal Society of Chemistry, Spanish Society of Industrial Chemistry, member of the Advisory Council of the Spanish Chemical Industry Business Federation and President of the National Association of Explosives Manufacturers, among other professional societies.
