Dr. Wafa AbuElKheir Mataria is a global health policy researcher with over a decade of experience in health equity, governance, climate and health, and health sector reform in the MENA region. She currently serves as a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Global Health and Human Ecology at the American University in Cairo, leading projects on refugee and migrant health, climate-related health impacts, and One Health frameworks.

Dr. Mataria has held roles in academia, NGO leadership, and consulting for organizations such as WHO and UNFPA. Her research has been published in high-impact journals and she is a frequent speaker at international conferences on global health and public policy.
