Director of the Waste Cluster of Catalonia (CREC)

Carmen López‑Quintana is the Director of the Waste Cluster of Catalonia (CREC) and a professional specializing in sustainability, innovation, and project management in the environmental field. Throughout her career, she has worked to promote collaborative initiatives among companies, technology centers, and public administrations to accelerate the transition toward circular economy models. 

She holds a degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of León and a Master’s in Waste Management and Treatment (IUSC–University of Barcelona) as well as a Master’s in Organic Agriculture (University of Barcelona), academic training that has guided her career toward sustainable resource management and environmental innovation.

She has built her career in organizations linked to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, such as the LEITAT Technological Center, where she managed R&D projects and innovation consortia, as well as through her own business initiatives and work in training and knowledge transfer. Her experience combines team leadership, the development of strategic projects, and the facilitation of innovation ecosystems within the environmental sector.
