Cristina leads the European market expansion of Powerledger’s blockchain platform for decentralised energy, grid flexibility and renewable energy certificates. With extensive experience in distributed energy systems, renewable grid integration and electricity markets, Cristina drives Powerledger’s impact on decentralised, decarbonised and resilient energy systems. Over the last decade, Cristina has worked on the optimisation and management of renewable energy and its grid integration at Iberdrola, the Fraunhofer Institute and the Selco Foundation.
She holds a degree in Energy Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) and the Technical University of Berlin (Germany), specialising in power system transformation and grid flexibility. Cristina has been included in the Forbes 30 under 30 list as one of Europe’s top energy leaders.
